Comfortable and Affordable General Dentistry Treatments
Dr. Keith Schmidt and Dr. Jay Shires perform a variety of general dentistry procedures at some of the most affordable fees around. Turn to your family dentist in Towson, MD when you need a professional teeth cleaning, root canal therapy, or a tooth reimplantation procedure. We offer several forms of sedation dentistry to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable throughout treatment. Let us take care of all your oral health needs with a high level of care.
NITROUS OXIDE
This is one of the most frequently employed methods of sedation and can be very effective for inducing a deep state of relaxation within minutes. You simply inhale a colorless gas and will feel very relaxed within a few minutes. Once the gas is stopped, you will return to normal and will be able to drive yourself home.
LOCAL ANESTHETIC
We can numb certain areas of the mouth with local anesthesia. We will inject a numbing medication into your gums or inner cheek prior to your procedure and the area will stay numb for several hours. You can drive yourself home after the procedure since you are not sedated.
PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY
We serve our younger patients with several specialized services and treatments that help to protect the child’s oral health. We also educate our patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques so they adopt healthy habits for life!
PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY
Preventive care is essential for warding off the high cost of dental procedures and treatments throughout your lifetime. We offer several preventative dentistry solutions for patients of all ages, including the application of sealants, fluoride treatments, regular teeth cleanings, and recommendations on the type of toothbrush to use on a regular basis.
ORAL PATHOLOGY EXAM
Our doctors will thoroughly examine the insides of your mouth and test for any abnormalities during an oral pathology exam. We recommend all patients undergo an oral cancer screening at least once a year.
TOOTH EXTRACTIONS
If you have a broken tooth, severe decay or other extensive problem, we may need to perform a tooth extraction. We perform both simple and surgical tooth extractions at our office. This procedure can help to restore your oral health and reduce the risk of further complications.
ROOT CANALS
If the pulp layer of the tooth has become infected, you will need to undergo root canal therapy immediately. Our doctors can perform a root canal with a relatively simple technique and restore the tooth with a custom crown.
WISDOM TOOTH REMOVAL
Patients with impacted or erupted wisdom teeth may need to have these teeth removed. We perform wisdom tooth removal procedures in our office. This procedure can help to improve the overall functioning and health of your mouth.
TOOTH REIMPLANTATION/TRANSPLANT
If a tooth gets knocked out in an accident, we may be able to save it with a tooth reimplantation or transplant procedure. This simple procedure helps to reconnect the tooth in the socket and eliminates the need for a dental implant or other tooth replacement service.
FULL MOUTH REGENERATION
Patients with severely decayed or damaged teeth may need to undergo full mouth regeneration procedures. This series of treatments may include tooth replacement with dental implants, gum recontouring, fillings, crowns, and other smile makeover procedures.
